ALPHABET A and A BIT OF TODAY

There are an awful lot of failures in my garden.

How can the Jerusalem Artichokes not have lots of flowers?

Maybe more will come.

I know why the Gobe Artichoke is a mess - slugs or snails and insects plus lots of neglect. (A good recipe that!)

The little Holly Tree has flowers. We have only the one so I doubt we will ever have berries - but it's good to see these tiny false starts.

And something extra cheerful. Can you see why I bought the Meercat?

Your Meercat looks just like my dogs when they've been scolded. What do you suppose he's sorry for?

So sad to havefemale holly flowers with no male flowers about. Perhaps you could search for a holly with male flowers and "borrow" a bit of pollen. A little paint brush and it's done. Perhaps the neighbors or the local nursery...

Cute meercat!
I agree with you on the recipe for a mess of a plant. Sometimes even with no neglect, a vigorous grasshopper alone is sufficient to wreak havoc.
